Location: The home of John and Carole Summerfield, 26 Las Brisas Way, Pelican Bay, Naples Talk by a Brown Professor : Tuesday, January 30, 2018 Dov Sax, Deputy Director of the Institute at Brown for Environmental Studies, spoke about the potential species loss that could result from climate change. Location: Moorings Park Wellness Center, 132 Moorings Park Drive, Naples, FL 34105 Miami Beach Art Deco Walk and Wolfsonian Museum : Tuesday, February 6, 2018 (8:00am to 6:00pm) Thirty of us enjoyed a tour of Miami Beach’s Art Deco district given by Marty Mueller ’68 and his partner Paula, followed by a tour of the Wolfsonian Museum by its curator Tim Rodgers, also a Brown graduate. Location: Bus trip to Miami Beach left from Coastland Mall in Naples Cost: $65.00 per person Medical Internship program at NCH: Friday, February 9, 2018 Discussions featuring Rachel Pyngolil (chief resident) and Allen Weiss (NCH President) Location: Naples Sailing & Yacht Club, 896 River Point Drive. Cost: $20.00 per person for wine and cheese L’Elisir d’Amour : Saturday, February 24, 2018 (7:30 pm) Brown Club members and friends attended the comic opera by Donizetti, a tale of what can happen when you drink the Elixir of Love. Location: Wang Opera Center, 2408 Linwood Avenue, Naples Cost: $55.00 per person Theater Matinee : Sunday, March 11, 2018 (2:15pm) A Matinee performance of Scapino at The Gulfshore Playhouse. Location: The Norris Center, 755 8th Avenue South, Naples Cost: $60.00 per person. After the play, you are invited to join us for an a la carte supper at a nearby restaurant. Boston Red Sox and Pittsburgh Pirates : Tuesday, March 20, 2018 (1:05pm) We saw the Boston Red Sox beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 12-6 in a spring training game with a picnic lunch before the game. Location: JetBlue Park in Fort Myers Cost: $65.00 per person for the picnic and game. Ivy Fest : Sunday, March 25, 2018 (4:30pm) Location: Sugden Regional Park, 4284 Avalon Dr, Naples Cost: $40.00 per person ($15.00 per child under 12) Star Gazing Party : Saturday, April 14, 2018 (7:00pm) We enjoyed the night sky and even saw the international space station pass by.
