Calendar of EventsOur events are open to all Brown Club members, their guests, and friends of Brown University. If you have any questions about events, please contact Kitty Keane (860-595-6882). Events will be posted as they are scheduled. Brown Lunch Bunch The Brown Lunch Bunch meets on the last Friday of each month at noon. Beginning with the May meeting and contiuing in the foreseeable future, meetings will held at the Bayside Seafood Grill & Bar in the Village on Venetian Bay. The Brown Lunch Bunch meets for a buffet style lunch on the last Friday of each month at noon. Meetings are held at the Naples Sailing & Yacht Club, 896 River Point Drive. River Point Drive is the first street east of Tin City on 41. The NSYC is at the end of the street. Attendees who are not members of the NSYC can use credit cards to pay for lunch — but not cash. The Brown Lunch Bunch does not meet in November or December because of conflicts with the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. Meetings are currently scheduled for:
The June meeting of the Brown Lunch Bunch will be a buffet salad lunch at the home of Judy and John Hushon (367 Fifth Ave North). The cost is $12.00 and it is important that you RSVP by e-mail (judyhushon@aol.com) or calling Judy at 239-784-3436. *The March meeting of the Brown Lunch Bunch will be held at the Bayside Seafood Grill & Bar in the Village on Venetian Bay. Upcoming Events Ivy Fest : Sunday, April 21 (5:00-7:00pm) Ivy Fest 2024 has been cancelled. Join us for our annual Ivy Fest on Sunday, April 21st at Vanderbilt Country Club. There are currently no events scheduled. Completed Events Tour of Conservancy Discovery Center : Saturday, November 11, 2023 We enjoyed a tour of the Conservancy of SWFL’s newly updated Discovery Center and a boat trip followed by lunch at the Lake Park Diner. Holiday Party : Sunday, December 10, 2023 A good time was had by all at our traditional Holiday Season Party. Tour of Caloosahatchee River : Saturday, January 13, 2024 We enjoyed a tour of the Caloosahatchee River and the Franklin Locks followed by lunch at The Boat House. 100 Years of Naples History : Friday, February 9 We enjoyed a presentation of 100 Years of Naples History by our own Lodge McKee at the Collier Museum followed by lunch at Ridgway’s. Special Presentation : Friday, February 23 We enjoyed Robert Porter Lynch’s presentation on Henry Merritt Wriston followed by lunch at Ridgeways. Red Sox Baseball Game : Monday, February 26 We enjoyed a Red Sox vs. Philadelphia Phillies spring training baseball game at Jet Blue Park. Reception for Grace Calhoun : Tuesday, March 12 We enjoyed meeting Brown’s Vice President for Athletics and Recreation Grace Calhoun at LaPlaya Golf Club. Star Party : Saturday, March 16 A good time was had by all at our annual Star Party and the home of Robrt and Cary Leher.
