Location: The Social Room of 81 Seagate Drive, Naples, home of John and Judy Hushon Lunar Eclipse Party : Sunday, January 20, 2019 We had a nice evening viewing the night sky and the start of the lunar eclipse. Location: Home of Rob and Cary Leher, 230 Cuddy Court, Naples Marco Island Historical Museum Tour : Tuesday, February 5, 2019 We had a great tour of the museum, followed by lunch at CJ’s on the Bay. Location: Marco Island Historical Museum, 180 S. Heathwood Drive, Marco Island An Insider’s Tour of the Naples Zoo : Friday, February 15 We toured the zoo and met with Jack Mulvaney, President and CEO of the zoo. Location: Naples Zoo at Caribbean Gardens, 1590 Goodlette-Frank Rd, Naples Boston Red Sox spring training game : March 12, 2019 We saw the Boston Red Sox play the Detroit Tigers, with a picnic lunch before. Location: JetBlue Park in Fort Myers Cost: $72.00 per person for the picnic and game. Caution: Possible Dangerous Side Effects for Women Friday, March 22, 2019 Brown’s Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine, Dr. Alison McGregor, discussed sex and gender differences in the delivery of acute medical care. Cost: $40.00 per person Ivy Fest : Sunday, April 7, 2019 Location: The Moorings Country Club, 2500 Crayton Rd, Naples We had a buffet meal and socialized with friends from Brown and other Ivy League and Seven Sisters colleges. Cost: $35.00 per person ($12.00 per child under 12) New Students Reception : Saturday, April 13, 2019 Brown Club directors and interviewers welcomed a local high school student who has been accepted by Brown. Climate Change Preparedness: Tuesday, April 16, 2019 Mike Savarese, a Professor at FGCU who has received a $1M grant to study sea level rise and storm surge in Collier County discussed his project. Location: Sheffield Theater on the 3rd floor of the Wellness Center at Moorings Park, Cost: $20.00 per person (wine and cheese included) |
